"Meta" The Evolving Korean Cuisine: Chef Sun Kim's Unwavering Belief and Passion.

Do you know the meaning of the word “metamorphosis”? Metamorphosis means changing or transforming into a different form. What if a person uses it as his or her way of evolvement?  Here is a story of one chef who keeps improving himself in the culinary industry with passion and belief and how he has developed his restaurant. We introduce you Chef Sun Kim from Meta Restaurant.

The first time Chef ignited his passion was when worked at his mom’s restaurant in Seoul. After a graduation from high school, he applied for Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia at the age of 26. At the time, he learned about Chef Tetsuya Wakuda’s paradigm and vision and idolized him so much that later he tried to apply for his restaurants. Despite his limited knowledge on English, he insisted on pursuing his career in Australia, or else he had to go back home and started his Italian food career. He could finally work with his idol. He spent 7 years working as a sous chef with Chef Tetsuya Wakuda’s restaurants. Once Meta is opened, he is offered for an executive chef. It was a rough journey for him, but his unwavering determination got him there.
