Produce of perseverance and briliance: A current fact check on Potong's 2022 collective accolades

After battling the pandemic for a few years, Thailand has seen fresh openings in the country's dining and hospitality industries. Numerous new fine-dining establishments have popped up in the restaurant industry, operated not just by well-known international chefs but also by large investors and local chefs who emphasize more on their regional cuisine. 

The sixth edition of the Michelin Guide Thailand was recently made public. A testimonial to restaurateurs' success in overcoming obstacles. This year, 35 restaurants in Thailand received 41 stars in total. The one Michelin star list includes several newcomers, amongst which is chef Pam Pichaya's  Progressive Thai-Chinese gastronomic den Restaurant POTONG which has been previously listed in the 2022 Michelin Guide Thailand, with a special note on the “Particularly interesting wine list”.

For a unique culinary approach and degustation concept that has an impact on the city's culinary community, Restaurant POTONG was also awarded the special accolade that was introduced in this most recent edition of Thailand's guide: the 2023 MICHELIN Thailand Opening of the Year Award. Apart from Michelin awards, Restaurant POTONG has been recognized globally across the world, ranging from being the only Thai restaurant to have won the Condé Nast Traveller's “The Best New Restaurant in the Word: 2022 Hot List” to winning the TOP 25 Restaurants’ “2022 Rising Star – POTONG Rising Star in Top Restaurants Bangkok” award.

Moreover, Restaurant POTONG was also awarded by KOKTAIL Magazine as one of Thailand's Best from 30 'Thailand's Favourite Restaurants 2022 Guide’ across 201 restaurants in the country and the “Chef of the year” - Chef “Pam” Pichaya Utharntharm - Restaurant POTONG, Bangkok award as well. Restaurant Potong strives to push boundaries and set standards constantly, but more significantly, the restaurant wants to make each visit to its establishment a pleasurable experience and a memorable one for the guests.
