Meet Frantzén Group's Most Nordic Restaurant in Bangkok, Villa Frantzen

Bangkok, Thailand will be more thrilling now that an outstanding restaurant has opened in the city's core. Villa Frantzén is one of Chef Björn Frantzén's restaurants. He also believes that Villa Frantzén will be the Frantzén group's most Nordic restaurant. As a result, this newly opened Villa Frantzén has a lot of promise.

The address of Villa Frantzén is No.7, Yen Akat Soi 3, Chongnonsi, Yannawa District, Bangkok, Thailand. Simply said, it is close to the Silom business district. In my opinion, the space is divided into three sections: the restaurant, the garden, and the cocktail bar. It's really convenient that the bar is separate from the restaurant.

The first thing you'll notice is the garden, which has a path lit with light that leads to the restaurant. There are various trees and plants along the road. What a tranquil setting!

Let's go to the casual dining room. The restaurant has an open kitchen with 60 seats and a relaxed atmosphere. There are three private dining rooms as well. The decoration is pleasant and relaxing, with a concentration on white, grey, and blue, as well as a wooden design, in contrast to the kitchen, which is decorated in metallic. There is a balcony in each private room where you can gaze out into the gorgeous patio.

Following your meal, you can enjoy drinks at a separate Nordic bar across the short road. The bar is pretty wide and pleasant, ideal for resting after an incredible course.

The dinner at Villa Frantzén consists of five courses plus supplement servings. All meals, with the exception of dessert, will be served in threes. So, there will be numerous variations for us.

For the first dish, we had salt-cured Norwegian salmon and beer-poached king crab. The salmon and king crab are served with an avocado emulsion, pickled cucumber, dill, trout roe, and horseradish. After that, the Jerusalem artichoke is our choice. It’s done three ways - baked, pickled, and fried - and paired with vendace (freshwater whitefish) roe, crème fraîche, rapeseed oil vinaigrette, and dill. Because of the crème fraîche, this has a light flavor as well. Following that, we indulged in number four. We had braised Australian ox cheek with onion purée, crispy onion, pickled onion, brussel sprout leaves, parsley, burnt scallion oil, and a pinch of licorice powder served in an onion white wine foam. The spices are precisely placed to provide a robust flavor that will help this dish stand out. Last but not least, the dessert course. The spicy orange, a fluffy, warm cloudberry compote topped with sea buckthorn parfait, Italian meringue, marinated strawberries, and a crunchy carrot tuile. Along with the pleasant sensation, an orange flavor will fill your lips.
